Posted by: Afrika4Jesus   in News Updates

Africa is home to over 900 Unreached People Groups with Nigeria having the lion share of about 300.
This whopping number of Unreached People is just a little fraction of the world’s Unreached billions who are wallowing in heathen darkness without a knowledge of the saving light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We challenge you to partner with us in this Divine Mandate of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations.

The World Wide Web has been with us for over 20 years now. And a lot has happened in that time! For better or worse, the way we communicate with one another and the world around us has changed. Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn… the list could go on and on.

So, what does this mean for missions? Anything? If you’re on this site you probably realize it’s pretty important. It may take some time to learn and adjust to online communication, but we think it’s worth it! Missions newsletters up on church bulletin boards are good, but there’s so much more that can be done. We want to see people get excited about missions and get connected to what God is doing around the world.

While there are undoubtedly some negative consequences to technology, there’s also great opportunity. Here’s a look at just a few of the benefits of using web technology to share your story:

Communicate More Effectively

Sharing your story and connecting to your supporters has never been easier. In the past missionaries would leave their country not knowing when or if they would return. Now we can share videos and send text messages in ‘real time’. Keeping an online journal of your joys, struggles, and prayer requests helps keep your supporters in the loop.

When supporters feel connected to what a missionary is doing they’re more likely to stay invested. They’re more likely to keep giving, keep praying, and keep sharing the missionary’s story with their friends. Here’s an example of just that from Love Global Foundation: Joanna & Simon met missionary Kevin Knight during their vacation to Cambodia. They were so moved by the work they saw that they started following Kevin’s story on his web page, donated to his work, and threw a fundraiser, asking their wedding guests to donate instead of buying gifts! They were able to stay connected and get their friends involved too. That leads us to the next point…

Make Giving Easy

Without connecting with Kevin on his missionary web page, Joanna & Simon may never have donated. Even if they had, it would have been difficult for them to ask their friends to give to Kevin’s cause. By using giving technology online, supporters are able to give easily and even set up monthly giving.

Web technology allows your story to be shared over and over again. You can even use it to recruit fundraisers for your cause. Supporters can share your story through social media, host a fundraiser, and ask their friends to give to your mission. As supporters become more engaged in missions, missionaries can spend less time fundraising and more time serving where they’re called.

Share Ideas

We all know missions work can be tough. Connecting with other missionaries, sharing prayer requests, and learning from those who have gone before us can make things a bit easier. That’s what’s so great about MissionsPlace.com. At Love Global, we send out a weekly fundraising tips email. There’s lots of other great sites out there too! Join a couple mailing lists or ask your friends which websites are their favourite.

Moving Forward

New technology offers a lot of potential for missions today. And you don’t have to be a computer wizard to see results. In 20 years the web has changed a lot and going forward I think we can only expect this trend to continue.

Do you use technology for your mission work? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Wheels For the Gospel

Posted by: Afrika4Jesus   in News Updates

Learn more Moving around in the mission field involves – most of the time – maneuvering through impossible unpaved roads. Only very rugged, four wheel drive off roaders can tackle these roads.
Six years ago, the Lord provided one such vehicle for us at Afrika4jesus. Six years of patient, meritorious service is beyond retirement age for a vehicle under these conditions.
We are, therefore, raising funds to replace our old reliable.
Is the Lord laying it in your heart to partner with us in acquiring a new vehicle?

Unreached People Groups in Nigeria

Posted by: Afrika4Jesus   in News Updates

<!-10 Most Needy Unreached People Groups in Nigeria
Unreached people group is a term used for a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize themselves.
The concept became very popular as the church seek to pursue the fulfillment of the prophecy of John in Rev. 7:9 “… a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb”. A research of all the major people groups in the world was carried out and surprisingly,Out of about six billion people on earth, 1.2 billion(20% have not heard the gospel yet.). Out of 332000 known missionaries worldwide, 328000 work among the evangelised. Only 4000 work among the unreached people. That is a ratio of one missionary to every 300000 unreached people. 1739 people groups are still unreached several centuries after Jesus had come and paid the price for our redemption.
Out of these, 590 are from Africa and not less than 40 from Nigeria. No fewer than ten of the unreached people groups are listed among the chronic groups that have very insignificant number of Christians. Most of the ten do not even have a single person who is a Christian. This remind us of questions raised by Oswald J. Smith Why should some people be hearing the gospel over and over whereas others are not given the opportunity to hear about him once? This is nothing short of criminal negligence and a clear indication of the great omission of the great commission.
Below is the list of 10 of the over 20 chronic unreached people groups and their locations.
1. SHANGAWAS – Also known as the Kyengawa are among the descents of Kishera who left Badr near Mecca to escape Islam. They are found in Dendi, Bagudo and Yauri LGAs of Kebbi State. The only convert in Nigeria is reported to have gone back to Islam.
2. BUDUMA: Live on the shores of Lake Chad, No known Christian
3. BOLEWA – Fika and Nangere LGAs of Yobe State, and in Bauchi State, No known Christian
4. BUTAWAS – The Butawa live in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State, No known Christian
5. LARU- Borgu LGA of Niger State, No known Christian
6. BARUBA Baruten LG of Kwara state, No known Christian
7. BASHAR – Found in Wase and Kanam LGAs, in Plateau State, No known Christian
8. ACHIPAWAS Sakaba LGA in Kebbi State & Mariga LGA of Niger state. Only 25 converts in 3 villages
9. BISA- Borgu LGA of Niger State, Only two known Christians
10. KUTIN- The Kutin are found in Ganye LGA of Adamawa State. Only Four Christians

Who Is A Missionary?

Posted by: Afrika4Jesus   in News Updates

Who is a missionary?

A popular English Dictionary defines ‘missionary’ thus: One who is sent on a mission.

While this definition is good enough on a general note, for the purpose of this write-up, a more detailed definition is necessary hence the following question:

Who then is a christian missionary?
A christian missionary is one who is sent on a Mission by God.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mk. 16 :15) .
In the light of the above, it follows that every saved, born-again child of God is a missionary. It also follows that Missions, Soul Winning and Evangelism – in the context of Mk 16 :15 – is not a suggestion or mere advise. On the contrary, it is a command.
…Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man…” (Romans 2:1) if your ‘very tight and busy schedule’ is the reason why you are not involved in missions.
Admittedly, not every born-again child of God has the calling of a full time, front-line missionary. In fact, not even all the Apostles were full time like Paul. While the Pauls, Barnabases and Silases were out as field missionaries, others were home based, supporting them in prayer, cash and in kind. So, if your busy schedule cannot allow you to go, you can become a home-based missions supporter, raising prayer and financial support for frontine missionaries.
Now, child of God what is your answer to this all-important question of all times:
“… I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Isaiah6:8
(1) Is it, like Isaiah, “Here am I; send me?” or (2) “Here am I Lord, but send them?”
Beloved, if number one is your answer to the question above, then I will challenge you to STEP out of your comfort zone and STEP OVER to where the real action is: THE COMBAT ZONE OF WORLD MISSIONS!
Join us today to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the over 900 Unreached People Groups of Africa and contribute your quota to world evangelization.

A GRIEVIOUS ERROR

Posted by: Afrika4Jesus   in Missions Stories

“…A GRIEVOUS ERROR…”

A missionary on the mission field is like a soldier on the battle field. Without adequate supply of armor and ammunition he will succumb to the superior fire-power of the enemy.
It is, therefore, a grievious error that children of missionaries, INSTEAD of being at school, go rat hunting – not because they hate education but for the simple and painful fact that the schools are either not available or not affordable.
This is happening in a situation where the Church, the major stakeholder in the missions enterprise is wasting her stupendous financial resources in erecting monuments – cathedrals and towers of Babel – which have no eternal value.
The Church of Christ which, unfortunately, has become the sleeping giant should be roused from her slumber and open her eyes to her enormous responsibility in world missions. I hope she wakes up soon enough.
However as she snores, I challenge you, child of God to come to the aid of these hapless children.
Your contribution, TODAY, as a Willing Missions Partner (WMP) can provide the much needed armor for these missionaries and place their children in school.
Willing to become a Willing Missions Partner (WMP)?
Willing to be part of what God is doing among Unreached People Groups of Africa?

Afrika4Jesus is a movement of christians fully committed to executing God’s End-Time Project on earth, i.e. Preaching the gospel to all nations but with particular emphasis on Unreached People Groups of Africa.

OUR AIM

The End-Time Project of God on earth is summed up in Mk.16:15, “…go ye into all the world and preach the gospel…” And unless this project is executed to a logical end, the “End” would never come.

It is in view of this that we, in 2011, embarked on “Afrika4Jesus Project 11/20” a Missions Initiative aimed at taking the gospel to the over 900 Unreached People Groups of Africa by year 2020 starting from our Jerusalem – our Oko Riverine Mission Fields in Delta State, Nigeria.

YOUR PART IN IT

We believe that we can and will realize this objective in target time with the support, partnership and cooperation of missions-minded believers like you.

This offers you the opportunity to contribute your quota to world evangelization and in the process, lay up for yourself, TREASURES in the bank of heaven where neither moth nor rust can destroy.

THE CHALLENGE

I challenge you, therefore, to step out of your comfort zone and step over to where the real action is: The Combat Zone of World Missions.

JOIN us today as a Willing Missions Partner (WMP) and be part of what the Lord is doing among Unreached People Groups of Africa in this End-Time.

GO, GIVE AND PRAY FOR MISSIONS.
